So yesterday, AP ran a news story that was on all the news sites, telling how a Carnival dancer set a record in Brazil for the smallest 'costume'. How can a news story like that not have a picture????
I didn't find a picture of this year's winner, but I did find last year's winner, Viviane Castro, above, sporting a supposedly 4cm (1.5 in) piece of cloth. Judge for yourself...
And I found another picture of her ( I think that's her?) with only body paint; the nicest picture of Obama I've ever seen!!
I believe there is some environmental message there? Study it closely.
See, this is what I like about Brazilians. They are OK with this. They can have a big party just for the hell of it with naked women prancing around and no one bats an eye. The women seem to love doing this. These 'costumes' would get you arrested in most places in the U.S. We are just too prudish (except maybe in S.F. or South Beach FL). If we just got over it and allowed nudity everywhere we would be able to have pics like this in the AP news.
This is just an introduction to a bigger theme I will have on getting over our puritanical ways and stop being so ashamed of ourselves and our nature. It is perfectly OK to run around and dance naked, and it is perfectly OK to like to watch. It's just the shame based culture that we have that represses us.
